The ex-students of Whistling Woods International have made a
film, tentatively titled Sherwani Kahan Hai...?, which indeed makes for
interesting viewing. The writer-director of the youthful comedy film is Shashank
Khaitan and he has also played a character in it. Paras Chakra-varthy, the
creative director and editor, as well as Amit Desai and Chaitali Parmar, the
producers, have passed out from WWI. The film is financed by three persons,
Karan Anand, Shashank Khaitan and Vandan Shah, of whom the first two-named are
WWI alumni and the third is a relative of Khaitan. Aakash Dha.r, Aahana Kumra,
Pavail Gulati, Akshat Trivedi and Amit Jain play Kundu, Nikita, Neeru, Vikram
and Lele respectively and yes — you guessed it right! — they've all completed
their acting course from WWI. Besides the abovenamed, the film stars Arvind
Pandey (as truck driver) and Diggy (as a tough guy). Sahil Ved and Aditya
Sharma are the other actors who have played roles in the film and who are
ex-students of WWI. The star quotient is provided by Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna
Pathak Shah. Jitan Singh, the cameraman, is also a WWI alumnus. Must say, the
erstwhile students have done fine jobs in their respective areas of work. The
film's second half, especially, is very funny and brings out the best in
everybody. The dialogues are of the kind which youngsters use in their
day-to-day conversations. All in all, an entertaining film which needs to be
released with a lot of love and care.
